Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a proactive maintenance process developed to identify and prevent deteriorations before these causing failures or breakdowns. TPM’s goals are achieving “Zero Product Defects, Zero Equipment Failures and Zero Accidents” by making processes more reliable and less wasteful.

TPM was the first methodology used by Toyota in 1950s to improve its global position. After TPM, the focus was stretched, and also involved suppliers and customers leading to creation of next methodology called lean manufacturing.

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the concept of TPM and its implementation steps.
